Paul Jeffrey Brown, Ph.D. became a Partner with the Exploration and Production Practice of Decision Strategies, Incorporated in 2004. He specializes in providing systematic, objective, and reasonably priced assessments of exploration properties (including the 'upside' for producing properties) using industry standard methods and software.
Prior to joining DSI, Dr. Jeff Brown spent 21 years with Mobil Oil, more than two years with Rose and Associates, and formed his own consultancy, Exploration Analysis, Inc. During his career Mr. Brown has been involved in the risk assessment of literally hundreds of prospects and geologic plays, and has taught the basics of risk analysis to hundreds of professionals. Mr. Brown is a globally recognized expert on the topic of play analysis, and his course on Strategic Play Analysis will be presented in conjunction with the AAPG National meeting in Houston in the spring of 2006.
Mr. Brown has used Crystal Ball to bring value to his clients by building a series of user-friendly Excel modules for evaluation of oil and gas exploration opportunities (prospects and geological plays) that use Crystal Ball's Monte Carlo engine, report-making capabilities, and ease of use in modeling assumptions and predictions to provide industry best-practice assessments of chance, volumes, and value.
