by ColoradoBiz Magazine
Crystal Ball a finalist for another prestigious business award
Oracle’s Crystal Ball Global Business Unit (GBU), maker of a leading spreadsheet-based software suite for predictive modeling, forecasting, simulation, and optimization, today announced that Crystal Ball GBU has been recognized as one of three finalists in the Technology/Media/Telecom category for the 2007 Colorado Biz Top Company business awards. Top Company, “Colorado Most Competitive Business Award,” recognizes Colorado’s most outstanding businesses based on financial performance, community involvement and excellence in one or more operational aspects of the business.
Deloitte, a long-time Top Company sponsor, judged the initial round of submissions in ten different categories and chose three finalists per category. The two other finalists competing with Crystal Ball GBU in its category are Qwest Communications and Statera.
"Crystal Ball GBU should be congratulated for its outstanding accomplishments which have led it to be named a Top Company award finalist,” said Bart Taylor, Publisher, ColoradoBiz magazine. “The Top Company Award is one of the most difficult and prestigious competitions to win. Crystal Ball GBU fits in perfectly with past finalists and winners, which include many of the states largest and most accomplished companies.”
A panel of business and civic leaders is in the process of selecting a winner for each of the Top Company categories. Winners of the award will be announced at an Academy Award-style gala on September 12 held at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. 7News anchorwoman Anne Trujillo will emcee the event. Finalists in other categories include Xcel Energy, Oppenheimer Funds Inc., The Western Union Company, Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver and Chipotle.
"To be recognized as a Top Company is an amazing accomplishment,” said Jim Franklin, Vice President and General Manager, Oracle’s Crystal Ball Global Business Unit. “This award shows that innovation as a company, and by the individuals that make it so successful, has been recognized yet again by our customers and the community at large.”
Recently, Crystal Ball GBU has repeatedly been recognized as one of the regions most outstanding businesses. In addition to being named a Top Company finalist, the company has been honored as a “Best Place to Work,” a recipient of the “Technology Service of the Year,” employer of two “Forty Under 40” award winners and one of only two companies to be given a “Fast 50 Award” for the past nine consecutive years.
ColoradoBiz will publish a 16-page insert in the September issue profiling the finalists and winners of the Top Company awards. For more information on the Top Company awards go to http://www.cobizmag.com/top_company_registration.asp.
